Zimmermania 80: Celebrating Dylan and Macca via Buddy and Little Richard

Hello, and welcome to the Boston Harold Video Podcast, special Bob Dylan birthday edition. Here's a short video I just recorded celebrating not only Bob Dylan, but Paul McCartney, and their connections through Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and each other:

Here's the Twitter post about MURDER MOST FOUL I was talking about: https://twitter.com/jkconnolly/status/1243502356865732608?s=21

And now for something completely different:

to bobby dylan on his secret 80th birthday …

… and as the plague descended on th’ multitudes & chaos ruled the land & the future was unwritten, the noble nobel sent manna in a manner from the iClouds perchance to stream …it was hard to digest but digest it we did … & dissected it & devoured it whole, the holy guacamole cashed in its chips and the masked tortilla rolled his own …  baked beans were optional… have you seen the tarantulas baby, molting in the shadows?  yes, on the web …

all dylan fans wake up in the morning, hold their phones and check expecting rain ... dylan was not yet 80 but getting there …  & through the bloody evidence from which we could no longer not see, the hip bard of hibbing, the magic magpie, the whodunit Houdini, the penguins of experience skating away as the sun set slowly on the old victrola … question everything the penguins said, even those asking the questions … from minnesota to the village to tulsa … what a long, strange trip, but it’s still going …

ampersands are the emojis of the unconscious …  a relic from the age of gemini …  let the moonshiner in …

dont look where they tell you to … look into the darkness, the abyss, your record collection holds all the answers … all you need is a record player and a rainy day  … it is time to celebrate and calibrate …. It’s a new morning … we are all masked & eponymous ..  waiting for the fairness doctrine to part the seas & drown the evildoers …   its time to freak out man … play your harmonica in the shower … sanitize your hands and your soul … stock up on your cosmic toilet paper you fools! What are the penguins up to now? Getting take out & then taking out the trash, mr. jones … are you still on that diet of fast foods and amphetamines?

when will the never ending tour resume so he can play to bulging crowds & their mini disc recorders … stealing from something I wrote in 1983 … awaiting the infidels & the outfidels … what does it all mean? ask the warmouths or the holy greils or the powers that be …  it’s a celebration & the host of honor will be in hiding, or in hibbing, or in a trance, walking that tightrope with those boulders weighing him down  (get ‘em off) … but it’s the rise of the cicadas … you buggin’? in a volkswagen? or a cadillac, a good car to drive after a pandemic … watch hearts of fire and get your leeds lungs out & have the usual & some scrambled eggs …  beware of the patient penguin, who knows what evil lurks there?

we walk this same earth and breathe the same air … we can see him and he can see us … but its only a mirror … a reflection … of our time .. of our history … of our hard drives … & we are lucky … he can see us & see through us … & from that … we can see ourselves … if we can get our prescriptions filled … & we think we can see him … but is he real … or is he an illusion .. an apparition … is he what we want him to be, or what people like me write about him to drive traffic to our websites?

So happy birthday bobby … i hope everybody leaves you alone, except those closest to you … in the real world … where we await your next moves, which the gemini in you both loves and detests … what a world … but its the only one weve got … do the foxtrot and dance the hoochie coo  ...dance like everybody's watching ... peace out
